France in Risk – Heat Waves
France in Risk due to the Heat Waves
France in Risk Heat Waves and Severe thunderstorms may pose a concern in numerous nations this weekend, following a week of searing heat that brought record-breaking temperatures to most of western and central Europe.
While many will be relieved that the scorching temperatures in Western Europe have abated, the storm system that brought them reprieve might also bring hazardous thunderstorms to France, Luxembourg, and southern Belgium on Saturday.
On Saturday, the conditions appear to be favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop across a wide area of France,” stated Meteorologist.
“Thunderstorms are predicted to form across western and central France from late morning into the afternoon,” according to the forecast.

Storms can become stronger as they move east, bringing devastating wind gusts, hail, and flash flooding with them. Meteorologist forecasters say that with the most powerful storms, a few tornadoes may form.
Storms may move into eastern France, Luxembourg, and far southern Belgium during the first half of Saturday night, as the threat in western and central France fades.
The best chance for a heavier storm in Paris is late Saturday afternoon and early Saturday night. A strong thunderstorm blew through Paris on Thursday, causing a wind gust of 66 mph (107 km/h) at the Eiffel Tower. The storm also reduced the temperature by around 32 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) in 15 minutes.
On Thursday, while storms raged across portions of Spain, one city was blanketed in a significant quantity of hail, turning the streets like a winter wonderland. Residents required snow shovels to clear the hail since it was so heavy.
The chance of destructive thunderstorms is predicted to diminish later Saturday night and early Sunday, according to Meteorologists said.
The risk of severe thunderstorms comes during a heat wave that engulfed western Europe earlier this week and will continue to broil areas of eastern Europe over the weekend.
Temperatures may rise 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit (5-11 degrees Celsius) above normal as a region of high pressure continues across eastern sections of the continent.
“Because it is so early in the month, this heat wave is likely to establish records for sites that hit 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius). Heat waves have been recorded in late June in the past “The Meteorologist noted.
In Warsaw, afternoon temperatures are expected to rise throughout the weekend, reaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius), about 20 degrees Fahrenheit (11 degrees Celsius) above typical for mid-June.
Berlin may potentially establish a new record for the amount of days with temperatures above 90 degrees (32 degrees C). Temperatures are expected to return to that level or higher through at least Sunday, after exceeding that mark on Thursday afternoon. This time of year, normal highs are in the mid 70s F (22-23 C).
The heat is also spreading to Scandinavia and northwestern Russia, where peak temperatures are expected to reach 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius) for several days starting this weekend and lasting into early next week.
“If temperatures rise as predicted, records will be broken, especially in St. Petersburg,” Roys said.

According to a researcher at the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the heat wave could threaten Finland’s highest June temperature ever. The current temperature record is 92.8 degrees Fahrenheit (33.8 C).
Temperatures in the affected areas of AccuWeather RealFeel® will range from 95 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit (35 to 41 degrees Celsius).
Heat-related disorders can be exacerbated by persistent heat and a lack of air conditioning across the region, especially for people who are heat-sensitive or do not have access to air conditioning.
High temperatures and dry conditions throughout the region can enhance the risk of fire, particularly in places that have been dry in recent weeks. The heat will also put a pressure on electrical infrastructure, as businesses and families try to stay cool by running air conditioners.
Throughout Eastern Europe, temperatures are forecast to progressively drop over the middle and end of next week.
