Alabama Tornado Damages
On Friday, at least two people were sent to the hospital after a possible tornado raced across southern Alabama as severe thunderstorms blasted across the southeast.
According to WALA-TV, nine mobile homes were destroyed near Atmore, Alabama, as a tornado-warned thunderstorm passed through the area. The National Weather Service is still trying to figure out whether the damage was caused by straight-line winds or a tornado.
Aside from the two victims who were transported to the hospital by ambulance, several more were hurt. The Associated Press said that no fatalities were recorded and that everyone who lives in the neighborhood has been accounted for.
“When the storm hit, we had one guy who was in his mobile home. He was dozing off. He claimed he awoke in the woods,” meteorologist said .During the strong storm, mobile homes were blasted apart, with debris strewn across a vast area, according to video from Atmore.
