Storms Threaten Millions Across the US

Weather experts in the United States are warning about big storms happening next week. These storms might last for a few days and could be very severe. They might bring tornadoes, strong winds, large hail, and heavy rain. The storms could start in the Great Plains and spread to the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee valleys. Even the Eastern Seaboard might be affected.

These storms will come because of a strong cold front moving across the country. Warm, moist air in front of the cold front and a fast-moving air current called the jet stream will add to the strength of the storms. Temperatures will be much warmer than usual during the day and night before the storms arrive.

The U.S. Meteorological Department has identified areas where the storms might hit. They might update these predictions as they learn more about the storms. The storms might start in parts of Texas and Oklahoma on Monday but the worst of it is expected on Tuesday.

Around 45 million people from Texas to Wisconsin and Michigan might be in the path of these storms on Tuesday and Tuesday night. Big cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, St. Louis, Columbus, and Little Rock might be affected.

The storms will move east on Wednesday but might weaken as they reach the Appalachian Mountains. However, places like Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia could still see severe weather. Cities such as Pittsburgh, Nashville, Memphis, Louisville, Birmingham, and Atlanta might be affected.

By Thursday, the storms should be mostly over, but there could still be heavy rain and strong winds in some areas, especially in Florida. There might also be a risk of tornadoes along with the storms.

Experts advise people to prepare for the storms and stay safe. March marks the beginning of the severe weather season, but storms can happen any time of year. The storms might cause flight delays and dangerous road conditions, so people should be careful.
