After the recent return of a March-like chill across the United Kingdom and Ireland, a significant rebound in temperatures is expected into next week.

The weekend will bring a gradual warming trend. By Sunday, temperatures will rise to above-normal levels across southern England and Wales. Northern England and Scotland will remain cooler but still close to average. Warmer conditions will finally spread into these areas early next week. This warming trend will continue into the middle of week as highs reach levels similar to what were seen late last week.
Meteorologis said, “An area of high pressure will cause warmer air to move into much of England and Wales during the weekend and early next week.”

The peak of the warmth is not expected to occur until the middle of the week, so residents will have several days to enjoy the pleasant weather. To accompany the warmth, Richards also expected there to be largely dry weather and bright spells across southern Britain, including the cities of London, Birmingham and Cardiff.

Richards warns, “There can still be times of showers across Scotland and northern England into the start of the week, which is what will keep temperatures lower in these areas.”
