Unseasonably Warm Weather

Winter is not happening like it should in the Midwest and Great Lakes. Time is running out to find it. Many cities are having one of the warmest winters ever. Snow and ice are very rare.

A lot of snow is missing in many cities compared to usual winters. Ice on the Great Lakes is almost at its lowest. It’s so warm that there are even thunderstorms in winter.

A weather expert named Pete Boulay says it’s because of El NiƱo and climate change. Winter is warming up faster than other seasons. Snow is disappearing everywhere because of human-made climate change.

Minnesota is very warm and missing snow. Boulay says he’s never seen anything like it. It’s so warm that people are doing spring activities in winter.

Other places are warm too. Many cities might have the warmest winter ever.

Warm weather is also bringing spring-like storms. There was a tornado in Wisconsin, which is rare for February.

Warm weather and snow don’t go together. Many places, including Minnesota, are not getting enough snow. Even Nashville, far away, has more snow.

The lack of snow is bad for businesses like skiing and ice fishing. Tourism is suffering because of it.

The Great Lakes usually have a lot of ice in winter. But this year, there’s very little. This is bad for businesses too, and it’s happening because of climate change.

Overall, this winter is very different from others. It’s very warm and there’s not enough snow or ice.
